Some long hair cats would not tolerate brushing and suffer from matting of the hair coat. If hair mats become large and firm it will cause discomfort and pain to the animal and also can cause skin problems, only shaving can help in such situation.

Some cats may require sedation for the procedure. This procedure includes hair clipping (shaving) only and does not include bathing since we do not want to add additional stress to the cat.
